Emphasis on the comprehension and construction of the"other" culture by travelers and migrants in fictional texts; and on questions of orientalism, colonialism, and multiculturalism. Texts by Chamisso, Heine, Seghers, Th. Mann, Ören, Atabay, Deleuze, Said, and Sassen.
