We know that navigating the financing process can be a complex challenge. Our dedicated Student Financial Services team works directly with families to provide clarity, guidance, and support. Barnard does not discriminate against applicants for financial aid on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability.

Available Financial Support & Programs

Financial aid from the College consists of grants, loans, and opportunities for part-time employment. In addition to providing financial aid from its own funds through need-based grants, Barnard participates in the following federal programs:

  • The Federal Pell Grant Program

  • The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program (SEOG)

  • The Federal Direct Student Loan Program

  • The Federal College Work-Study Program

Barnard also proudly participates in state-level opportunity initiatives, including:

  • The New York State Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP)

  • The New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

Barnard also participates in the QuestBridge Match program.

Federal and state funds are administered by the College in accordance with government regulations and the College's general policies relating to financial aid.

To supplement the above-mentioned financial aid sources, students and families are guided to research student loan options, external scholarship/tuition assistance programs, and college tuition financing plans.
